English club bid for Udinese playmaker D'Agostino

An unnamed English club have made an offer for Udinese playmaker Gaetano D'Agostino.

The Friuli outfit were in negotiations with Juventus over the transfer of the 27-year-old to Turin, but the deal has fallen through because the bid was considered too low.

Udinese could now consider the two other offers they have received for D'Agostino.

"We have one offer from England and another one from an important Italian club,'' said Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo. "Anything can happen.''

Pozzo was unimpressed by the offer made by Juve.

"I am perplexed by the low value set by Juventus executives for the player,'' he said. "The difference between the asking price and the offer is huge. I have the impression that Juve have not thought about the real value of our midfielder.''

D'Agostino, who is also a reported target of AC Milan, recently admitted he would fancy a move to Juve.

"The will of the player is to go to Juve and if I could I would try to make him happy,'' said Pozzo. "But if Juve really want to get D'Agostino they should be able to make a sacrifice.

"Juve should not take advantage of the enthusiasm of the player. Once they are able to comprehend it, they will pay the right amount. It's all in their hands.''
