Marchisio And Grygera With The Group. Paolo Belli Visits Vinovo

Today saw another stage en route to the match against Milan. After yesterday’s double session which saw the return of Marchisio and Grygera who spent part of the session with the group, today the two bianconeri took part in all of the session without any problems. Legrottaglie only underwent physical exercises which he however intensified.

Good response and first training with the ball for Sissoko and Salihamidzic. The rest of the group put maximum concentration into technical and tactical aspects. Del Piero and Trezeguet were once again together during the mini-match. Marchionni played on the left with Zanetti and Tiago central.

Today’s session saw a special guest: Paolo Belli. The singer from Modena will be presenting this year’s edition of “La Partita del Cuore” which will be played in Turin at the Olimpico on the 18th of May.

This year the charity match will be more then ever bianconera. The Nazionale Italian Cantanti (Italian Singers National Team) which includes a number of Juventus supporters (besides Belli one can not forget Eros Ramazzotti) will be playing against the “Ale 10+” team with Alessandro Del Piero as captain.

Cobolli: "First The Results And Then The Comments"

Much work and few words. This is the imperative at Juventus and not only following the words of a few days ago by John Elkann. With four match days to go until the end of the championship and on the eve of the decisive match against Milan, nobody is intended to let go.

Two days after Jean-Claude Blanc, it is president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli who tranquilised the atmosphere by speaking of the present without forgetting the future which is just round the corner:

"The right words were spoken by John Elkann when he stated that in football one comments only if results are achieved. I know the team is training well in Vinovo and that Ranieri is determined for the match in Milan which for us is important not only because of its prestige. We want to maintain the third place with the thought in mind that we can still come second and this why we want to win".

Four days till the end but the transfer market is more then just a topic for discussion. Even Juventus cannot help but look ahead. The president thus spoke of the two hottest topics of discussion in the last few days: Buffon and Diego.

"For us Buffon is priceless. He is a great champion and is not for sale. He is right to want to win and we share the same views and this is why we are seeking champions to become even more competitive. Diego? We are following him and we are going ahead with the negotiations which we hope to conclude but the deal is not yet concluded".

Hard Work At Vinovo

After having had a first session in the morning, Juventus had another one this afternoon.

The programme was different for some of the bianconeri compared to the one in the morning: Claudio Marchisio, after having worked in the gym at the start of the day, took part in the warm-up with his team mates and then proceeded to work with coach Riccardo Capanna.

Legrottaglie first had an athletic session and then returned to the gym while Zdenek Grygera who in the morning trained in a separate session with the other defender joined the group in technical exercises. After, Grygera worked in the gym with Del Piero, Chiellini and Iaquinta while the other players moved to the field adjacent to the main one for some intense athletic training.

Mellberg and Knezevic also worked in the gym, while Hasan Salihamidzic and Momo Sissoko were busy with a light jog during which they returned to working with the ball. Cristian Molinaro who is once again suffering of abdominal pain is still resting.

Blanc: "We Must Be Compact And United To Face The Next Matches"

During an interview aired on Sky Sport 24, the general manager of Juventus Jean-Claude Blanc spoke of the moment that the team is going through, beginning from the day’s happenings: the meeting in the morning with Claudio Ranieri and the visit to Vinovo.

"We are going through a difficult time as often happens in football. It is a long period, seeing that we have not won for 46 days, and this is why it is right to discuss this between us, just like we did in October during a difficult period and we are doing all we can to come out of it in the same manner. We can make it if we remain united".

"This morning, together with Alessio Secco, I spoke to Ranieri of the work, as we often do during the week and we decided, apart from other things, to have a double training session tomorrow to maintain the maximum compactness and concentration. Then we met with the team because it is important to be united to be able to end the season in the best way possible".

Blanc denied the rumours of an eventual replacement of Claudio Ranieri on the bench by Ciro Ferrara in case of a negative result on Sunday at the San Siro. Asked about the future of the coach at the end of the season, the general manager confirmed the position expressed by John Elkann last week:

"We will draw the balance at the end. Now is the time to concentrate on the remaining four matches, because we have all the means to maintain and even improve our place in the table".

With regards to the criticism showered on the team and on the directors in these last weeks, Blanc asked for "more respect and balance in passing judgment", even to the supporters:

"I don’t think that it is right to criticize the players heavily especially from the supporters who always backed us even in more difficult moments then this. What we can say to them is that we are doing all we can to change the situation and that to end the season as best we can we need their support".

The players’ commitment, said Blanc, and their will to do well is also at the origin of which a lot was said in the last few days:

"It is normal – he said that when matches go wrong and the champions do not manage to give the maximum, they feel frustrated and there can be moments of tension, which are owed to the will to do well and give more".

Finally came the Cannavaro story, with the player having undergone medical tests yesterday.

"We are taking it a step at a time because we want to verify each detail before signing the contract. In any case – concluded Blanc – I want to remind everyone that he is a world champion, that he is the captain of the national team and that he is in the starting line-up of Real Madrid".

"It is true he left three years ago but it was a decision which he took together with the club and let us not forget that by selling him and Emerson Juventus earned 23 million Euro. In any case, when we choose a player we see if he has quality and Cannavaro is a champion who can help our youngsters to grow".
