Lyon chase Trezegol

Olympique Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed his wish to replace Karim Benzema with David Trezeguet.

The French side sold their star man to Real Madrid yesterday for £30m and are now looking to Juventus’ bomber as a potential reinforcement to their attacking package.

“I would fancy signing Trezeguet,” noted Aulas.

Juve are more than willing to negotiate and the price tag shouldn’t be a problem as they are set to ask for around £8m. Lyon could also offer the services of Fabio Grosso, who has just recently been linked to the Old Lady.

“Fabio spoke to the Coach about leaving the club and we may let him,” Aulas told Le Progres.

“Losing Benzema was a big blow for us. The Spaniards offered him three times as much so we couldn’t really stop him.”

The former Ligue 1 champions also sold Abdul Kader Keita to Galatasaray for £6m and could use that money to get to Trezegol.

But the Frenchman isn’t their only target as they have also made enquires about Porto’s Lisandro Lopez, Toulouse’s Andre-Pierre Gignac and Nice’s Loïc Rémy.
