Buffon tied to Juve

Silvano Martina, the agent of Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, says his client has no intention of leaving Turin this summer.

The 31-year-old World Cup winner was the subject of a bid from nouveaux riche Manchester City in January, which he rejected.

“There isn't any doubt on Gigi. There was an approach. A deal in January with Manchester City, but leaving a club like Juventus is never easy, so his choice was to stay,” Martina said.

Buffon is the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

Juventus paid Parma £32.5m for his services in 2001.

He is still considered to be the best in the world, although Inter's Julio Cesar is pushing him close.
