Lyon Defender Fabio Grosso Certain To Join Juventus - Report

Lyon defender Fabio Grosso is wanted by Italian clubs, but will he leave the French Champions?

Fabio Grosso has moved a step closer to signing for Juventus according to L'Equipe.

The French newspaper seems certain that the Italian international will complete his move to Turin soon, claiming the Bianconeri are in pole position to sign him. A number of reports on Wednesday had claimed the deal could be scuppered as the future of Juve-owned left-back Domenico Criscito was uncertain. It was said Criscito could return to Turin - cancelling the need for Grosso.

However, Calciomercato.it claimed Genoa had in fact signed Criscito on a co-ownership deal, in which case Juve's path for Grosso would be free.

Voices in France suggest Lyon are trying to lure midfielder Mauro Camoranesi as part of the deal, but Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri have gone cold on that option as the Italian international is seen as a key figure in Ciro Ferrara's plans.

On Monday, Grosso hinted at a possible switch to Juve when he returned from his Confederations Cup adventure with Italy. The stopper claimed Juve are a great team, but he was reluctant to elaborate when asked about whether he wanted to join them.
