Villarreal CEO Opens Door To Giuseppe Rossi’s Move To Juventus

A feverish Alessio Secco returned to Italy yesterday after a brief trip to Spain to start talks with Real Madrid and Villareal over the availability of midfielder Mahamadou Diarra and striker Giuseppe Rossi, respectively.

The Italy international has stated his desire to return to the peninsula and Juventus are so far the only Serie A club to have shown concrete interest, but negotiations with Villarreal will not be easy.

“Rossi is a great talent and is only 22, which are two good reasons to consider him ‘untransferable’,” Villarreal chief executive officer Jose Manuel Llaneza told Tuttosport.

“But Milan said the same thing about Kaka and you all know how it panned out. If we were faced with an offer we couldn’t refuse…”

It is suggested that the La Liga club value the ex-Manchester United starlet at €25million and the Old Lady have allegedly offered French striker David Trezeguet in part-exchange.

The Yellow Submarine are said to be in favour of bringing in the former Monaco man, but his €7m valuation means Juve would need to splash out €18m in cash to land Rossi.

“I don’t think it’s fair to say what I answered Secco,” Llaneza said when asked about the possibility of ‘Trezegol’ moving to El Madrigal.

“But I can certainly say that Trezeguet is a great player.”
