Primavera: Out In The Quarter-Finals. Palermo In The Semis

The Primavera’s run towards the title came to an end in the quarter-finals. At Perugine Valsugana Maddaloni’s boys were beaten 3-1 by Palermo. The goals were all scored in the second half and two rosanero goals within 4 minutes brought the match to an end.

After fifteen seconds from the beginning if the second half Miuraca head beyond Pinsoglio. Hardly time to get back into the match had passed when Palermo scored a second thanks to Hernandez who dished out a powerful shot from outside the area.

The Palermo striker repeated his feat eight minutes later, darting perfectly on time from between the bianconeri’s two central defenders and beating Pinsoglio once again with a left-footed shot.

The Juventus goal was scored from a penalty following a foul on Esposito in the area. Yago had to take the penalty twice but scored on both occasions marking his 13th score this season. The bianconeri ended the match with one man less due to the sending-off of De Paola. The defender intervened regularly on Conti who was in a clear chance of goal but the referee had a different opinion and showed him the red card. The send-off did not leave its effect on the match, however.

Palermo won by 3-1 and Juventus saw scudetto dreams being shattered.
